Randon : Sleep...The New Sex...

Disciplining the mind, trying to get it under your control...very difficult...more difficult when you have external factors messing with your thoughts...mind over matter...easier said than done...

Oh well, this is a forever on-going battle...never-ending...

Life is getting more monotonous...but I'm not complaining. I think I've had enough excitement and the peace and quiet now is good. I have finally managed to start on my assigment for my last module which due in 2 weeks time. Which means I have done my cover page...only the cover page...hehe...

After that I'll be concentrating on my graduation project. I'm still pondering on which module to do it under. Strong contenders are The Techniques of Professional Speaking and Social Behavioural Studies but I don't really like both the lecturers and they would be assigned as my supervisor...hmmm...i still have till April to ponder...

I know I'm gonna miss studying but I'm gonna miss my classmates more. My class clique is wat motivates me to attend classes. They are wacky, fun, full of nonsense and we always have lots of fun together. I'll be the first one to graduate among them. I'm gonna miss them terribly after this module ends in Mar...sigh....

This has been quite a tough week for Victor. He has had hardly time to even call me. So the best substitute for Victor was food. Decided to make myself happy by indulging myself in good food. Although satisfied, I had to shed some tears as a result...

Wednesday was my colleague Jing Ying's birthday so i suggested heading down to Thai Express at Holland Village for lunch since its been a long time since I had Thai food. I ordered the 'Tom Yum Seafood Stick Noodles', which i hadnt tried before. This innocent-looking clear soupy dish arrived.
Me being stupid, though that it might not be spicy. (I deduced that without even taking a sip) So i added in 2 spoonfuls of chilli padi. The first mouth of noodles was fine. And so was the second one…but after the third one, I started tearing. It was that HOT!!! But then it was also shiok at the same time, so despite the tears I finished up the entire bowl.

After that I made everyone follow me to Haagen Daz so that I could calm my burning tummy with some ice-cream. And I made everyone buy an ice-cream to accompany while I was stuffing myself with mine…hehe…

Here’s the 4 of us with our ice-creams. Jing Ying, the birthday girl, refused to take a picture! That’s Jon, Serene, Daniel and Me! I love my Chocolate Decadance!!!
Food always cheers me up! Could there be any better mood-booster than that!
I'm so glad its Friday!! Am so looking forward to Saturday and Sunday!! :) I'm gonna make sure that its well-spent! :) Good Weekend to All!

Happiness is not found but created....

Valentine's Day is fun to observe. Flowers, cute bears, heart-shaped balloons. Ladies walking around with bouquets, guys holding bouquets and waiting for their girlfriends/wives. Its kinda cute when these guys feel uncomfortable standing with bouquet in their hands. So sweet aint it!

It was our first Valentine’s Day together and I was initially disappointed when I saw Victor empty-handed. He wasn’t holding anything, no flower, no bouquet, no present….

But...Victor made time to meet me yesterday for dinner, even though he is swamped with work. He made his way to CCK to have dinner with me so that I didn’t have to travel after finishing tuition.

Well, Victor isn’t the romantic kind. I know I would never get to see him holding a bouquet of roses and waiting for me. But with his character, his way of life and his busy career, he’s been making compromises for me and to make me happy. I’m grateful for that.

Sometimes it’s the small things that matter……

*The happiest people in the world are not those who have everything, but those who learn to live with things that are less than perfect.*

I’m happy! :)

I hope everyone had a nice V-Day with their loved ones!

Happy Valentine's Day to All!

I already had too much of R & R & R!!!

4 days of holidays....sigh....

My R & R became R & R & R = Rest & Relax & Rot at home.....

My holiday plans didn't materialise. Although one did, it was disappointing...sigh....

7 Feb 2008 (Thursday) - 1st day of CNY

-Planned : Watch 'Sweeney Todd' and have a nice dinner with Victor
-Actual : We did watch 'Sweeney Todd' and the movie wasn't very impressing as it was mentioned to be. Victor got bored within 10 mins. After half and hour, I was like "Can you stop singing already?" There was just too much singing. Its worse than a tamil movie. N I don't get the senseless killings. After a disappointing movie, I tot a good dinner would be nice but Victor didn't want venture out into town coz he had to go back to camp later. So we ended up in Sun Plaza, having dinner at KFC, sipping koffee at Coffee Bean and talking cock with Mark till it was time for Victor to go back to camp.

8 Feb 2008 (Friday) - 2nd day of CNY

-Planned : Outing to Sentosa to see the flower show with Rathika, Siva, their kids, Suba and Minah
-Actual : Rathika, Siva and the kids were knocked out after a chalet the day before. Minah told the weather was too hot. I was bored and pissed and so i went to my aunt's place and then met Minah for dinner and ice-cream at AMK Hub. Even my idea of having chocolate fondue didn't materalise.

9 Feb 2008 (Saturday)

-Planned : R & R at home and dinner at Newton with Minah, her mum and Katijah
-Actual : R & R at home was good. But my little 'mei-mei' came unexpectedly and so did the dumb cramps and I ended like a prawn on my bed.

10 Feb 2008 (Sunday)

-Planned : Outing to the zoo with Victor, Mark, Roy and Jaclyn
-Actual : Victor sprained his ankle the day before while on duty and had difficulty walking and he was also down with fever. So the zoo plan was off. He rested at home and I went to my aunt's place to bum. My elder bro and I decided to bake a cake and we made a super-sweet cake that we couldn't even eat a bit.

What a wonderful holiday!

As if, I didn't have enough R & R during the long holiday, i'm now at home with a migraine.

I can't believe that I'm saying this but I rather be at work. There was just too much bumming at home already!

I plan to go to the flower show this Saturday. Let's see whether that materialises. Victor's leg is still swollen...I wonder if it would get better by Saturday and whether he would wanna walk around or just rest to not strain it too much....ARGH!

How far should filial piety be?

When u have the inspiration to blog, the PC is not near you. When you have a PC in front of you and you want to blog, you don’t have the inspiration…….funny mechanics……

The weekend was good. But it also proved that one late night can leave to a tiring whole Saturday….sigh……it just shows that age is catching up…..sigh……*cough cough*

Friday was my friend Katijah’s birthday and Minah n I decided to give her a surprise. That was me appearing at Emerald Hill, with a cake, where they were, without Katijah knowing about it. She was happy to see me. She’s going through this rough patch now….i guess it always happens, at some point in time in life where you have to make a decision that would determine your future….Poor her…The Friday night outing cheered her up.
Katijah and I go a long way….we started out at pen-pals….I know, at an age when email was a in-thing, we met thru the mode of writing. I guess it was through teletext. What was more dumb was that we were just staying quite near-I was at Jurong then and she at Clementi.

We wrote to each other, mailed presents to each other on our birthdays. We finally met a year later. Since then we have been friends. We did lose touch for some time but we got back together again. Now we are working together in the same branch. Wonderful rite! J

Looking at the pics, nobody would ever believe that I didn’t drink at all. There were 4 glasses of Martini coz it was 2 for 1 and there were 3 of us but Minah drank 2 glasses and the rest had 1 each coz I was too tired to drink anything.

But we had fun, taking all kind of wacky shots, like we always do….hehe…..
The Birthday Girl and her cake:We were really having lots of fun, trying to feed her the tiny cake and posing with the drinks!

Me and Minah started our nonsensical photo-taking!
*Martini with Minah!* - Wonder what I would do without her!
This was like so fake! Katijah had to give that "U - Drinking" reaction! haha!!
I came back at 12+ and was sooo tired the next day....I had to wake up early for tuition and I was out the whole day. Once I came back home at 11+ on Saturday, I went straight to bed!

I and Vanitha visited our friend Habibah on Saturday afternoon to see her baby who was a month and a few days old! He was such a cutie. But he started crying after a while...hehe....guess he might have been frightened by us...hehe.....he looks exactly like Habibah. His name is Zafir Amin. Kinda cool eh.
My mum is driving me nuts. She really pissed me off on Sunday. This is one of those moments where I really regret being nice to my family and going through thick and thin with them. Sigh. It really hurts when your family don't know you as well as they should and don't appreciate you as much as they should. How far should filial piety be?
